Training

At brilliant futures ltd we provide a range of training courses which are constantly being updated. We aim to offer cost effective practical training, based on real buildings, on sustainable building practice and renewable technologies. All of our courses are a half day unless specified

Below is a selection of courses currently being offered.  These can be delivered in your workplace and can be tailored to meet your specific needs. If there are any specific areas about which you would like training please talk to us about bespoke sessions

Meeting the future requirements of Building Regulations and Code ENE1 

This course looks at the changes being considered in the revision of Building Regulations in 2010, changes to SAP and the requirement of many planning authorities for a Code for Sustainable Homes assessment. Using real buildings, the improvements in fabric needed and the use of renewable technologies, solutions are given on how to reduce carbon emissions in buildings to meet the demands of the Code and Building Regulations. Potential changes to SAP are considered and how this will impact on building design

Passive house 

The German Passivhaus design is becoming more popular here in the UK for both new build and refrubishment as it uses very little energy for heating and cooling. This short course looks at the requirements to meet the low energy use needed to be called a passive house. The areas covered are meeting the standards for insulation, thermal bridging and air tightness, design considerations, supply of materials and application in the UK

 Biomass heating systems

For many developments, biomass is often the solution if you need to meeting higher Code levels, or have to provide a percentage of energy from a renewable source. This short course looks at the systems available and site considerations, types of fuels and its supply, maintenance and servicing, district heating and distributions systems.

 Domestic heating and energy systems

A short introduction to domesctic energy, the issues we need to tackle and the options available for both conventional and renewable energy systems.  This course is designed to give any homeowners a basic understanding of the subject and allow more informed decision making about changes you may wis to make.
